Heading to Disney World tomorrow. It’s our sixth time going (thanks in large part to grandma and grandpa).
My kids were two and four the first time we went. Now they’re seven and nine. I, on the other hand, have not aged at all. I was 24 when we first went and I’m still 24. (That’s code for “38 and delusional.”) We are not yet (and hopefully never will be) sick of it!
Like little kids on Christmas morning, we will wake up tomorrow with excited anticipation as we head to our favorite place on earth.
Anyone who’s been to Disney knows of its awesomeness. But for our family, a trip to Disney is more than just going on rides and meeting Captain Jack Sparrow; we have certain family traditions.
And here you have them, illustrated in the form of a Brite so you can get a truer sense of the corniness that is my family in Disney World.
Time to get packing:

If you are new to The Healthy Mom, welcome! I write on all sorts of topics related to my journey towards raising a healthy family. Sometimes, I’m funny, sometimes I’m deep and sometimes I just feel like espousing nutritional advice. It’s pretty much whatever strikes my fancy that day! Have a look around!

Have a great time! I love Disney too.

Thanks, Christie! We love Disney. Though, it’s not what I’d call a relaxing vacation. Kids + vacation does not equal relaxation.
No, Disney is not relaxing, but it is totally magical. Have a great time!

Have a wonderful, wonderful trip–I dream of Disney and think it has to be an awesome place to take the kiddos!

Meredith,
It is a wonderful place. I hope you can go sometime soon!
Wow, you’re brave to do Disney so many times! My friend’s sister has worked there for about 20 years, so her family goes at least once a year or more. They know all the ins and outs and which rides to ride at which times and how to get the perfect Fast Passes. Of course, we went to Disney through Make-A-Wish. Even though why we were there sucked, it was actually the perfect scenario. All the boys were under six so they didn’t last very long anywhere. We got to the front of every line, and didn’t feel guilty about leaving early since the vacation was free.
Anyhoo, have a wonderful and safe trip!

I am sorry your visit to Disney wasn’t under better circumstances. It is a wonderful place. But a bit chaotic. Hopefully you can go again sometime under better circumstances.
