Differential Geometry is required to work with surfaces and curves for any shape creation, whereas computational geometry is required to represent and manipulate geometry within the computer effectively.
In recent days, the connection between molecular modelling and computational geometry has grown tremendously. It means that molecular modelling can be easily understood in terms of the arrangement of a sphere in the three-dimensions. It helps in finding the offset surfaces, a collision between molecules, performing dynamic simulations, and also the principle behind the tangents and normals are used to analyze the direction of acceleration and velocity of the moving particles.
In textile layout or designing, geometry is used to define how the design elements are laid out and how they are related to each other. In textile designing, they use different colours and regular patterns. Those patterns are often defined by geometry.
